Vijay is a globally recognized artist from Tamil Nadu if you prefer, call him a hero. Now, he is becoming active in state politics. Just like we describe the sun from a distance, I’m going to present something similar in this article—purely my observations.
At a basic level, if a person has fulfilled their fundamental needs and still chooses to sit idle doing nothing, then he is either an animal or a saint. Many big stars in South India, after satisfying their hunger for success and stardom, choose the path of social work or politics as a passion. Vijay is one of them.
The fundamental difference between Vijay and other artists is this: he doesn’t just take a stand through words he pushes it through his actions. His statements supporting Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, and his commentary on policies like GST and Ayushman Bharat through his films, show that he is a risk-taker. These things don’t just emotionally attract people—they make them think.
If two people explain the same thing, the one who presents it more effectively and with genuine conviction will be understood better. Many actors entered politics and tried to present themselves as leaders, but they failed—because people still saw them as actors. Vijay, however, through his films over the past few years, the roles he has chosen, his consistent concern for public welfare at events, and his humble yet assertive nature, stands apart from those unsuccessful actor-politicians.
People usually look for either simplicity that connects or aggression that commands respect in their leaders. Only then does a true mass leader emerge—otherwise, most remain just “leaders” in name. Giving guidance without noise and letting actions reflect character—these are qualities that make Vijay unique. The public has now moved beyond the illusion that good PR automatically means good leadership. A goat can look like a tiger for 3–4 months, but eventually, the paint fades and reality shows. PR and advisors can only support—they cannot defeat opponents.
When Vijay’s father began misusing his name for political purposes, Vijay filed a case against him. This created outrage, and he was heavily trolled. But over time, he came to be seen as a superstar who strictly follows his principles. He didn’t publicly justify his actions then, but as time passed, people understood that what he did wasn’t wrong—and that realization felt genuine and impactful.
On one side, people saw a hero who values the public above all; on the other, a son who took legal action against his own father but stayed silent to avoid further damaging his father’s reputation. This perception formed naturally in people’s minds—sensitive and long-lasting.
This is just one example to explain Vijay’s political style. Not reacting to everything is also a form of response—but it requires maturity and the right mindset. Vijay has been doing this for many years.
People often say, “He is a good man,” but they don’t clearly know what his good deeds are. At the same time, they also wonder if he might have flaws. In simple terms, as long as Vijay is not seen as bad, he is considered good. And this very mysterious goodness makes him a sensitive, patient, and strategically sharp politician.
By the time the other side of Vijay’s personality fully comes out, he might already be the Chief Minister of the state or at least a beloved figure among the masses.
Not letting people clearly judge how good or bad you are is a rare and powerful quality—one that great politicians and socially committed individuals often possess.
